Fluffy, January 5, 2015
My baby girl, Fluffy, passed away on Monday. We had to bring her
to the vet, to cross the Rainbow Bridge. She was old, and had
several health problems, & had a rough weekend. It was a
heartbreaking decision, and I miss her so very much. My brother
passed away in October, so I lost 2 of my best friends, in the
last 2 1/2 months. I feel very empty without my Fluffy. She was
the sweetest, most loving, most cuddly kitty you could imagine. I
hope she is giving my brother her heart-melting chin rubs. I miss
you, my baby. I hope we meet again.

Fozi, January 30, 2015
Colorado Miniature Schnauzer Rescue & Vintage Dog Rescue
uploaded a new video.
One of the first days we had Fozi he claimed a large section
of the family room couch when he knocked over a couple of pillows
and proceeded to claim this throne. We threw a fleece throw over
the pillows, and that is where he could always be found from there
on out. Susan Lummanick joked one day upon seeing him perched on
his throne that the Foz should do a video explaining how he
managed to commandeer half of the couch from his people. This
later became his lesson number one on how to take over the couch
or bed from your person without appearing to be a couch or bed
hog! HAHA!
Fozi always breathed kind of funny, he sneezed a lot after he
exerted, and had the reverse sneezing thing happen several times a
week. It never occurred to us that he had a nasal blockage until
about a week before he left us when his breathing became much more
labored. A number of vet visits culminated with a specialty vet
who did a CT scan which revealed that his entire left nasal
passage and sinus were blocked by a mass, and the mass had broken
through the nasal divider into the right nasal passage. As you
know, two Fridays ago, we made the heartbreaking decision to not
wake him up from anesthesia.
We miss that old guy so much, but we smile a lot when remembering
him. We certainly thought we'd have more than 4.5 months with him,
but I guess it is the great reminder to love the ones you have
while you can, for nothing is ever guaranteed. I have to admit
that we are having major withdrawals from the laughter that the
videos brought us, so his rescue siblings - Max, Megan and Violet
- are planning to audition for the role of new spokesdog. So keep
an eye out on the page for these audition tapes.
Thanks again for being such an amazing group of people. It is
weird how you really can become friends with people you haven't
necessarily met. We love seeing all of you on the page, so keep on
commenting and sharing your beloved pets with us. In the meantime,
we'll keep on finding loving homes for as many dogs as we can,
while sharing laughter and community along the way. And who knows,
there may be another "foster" one of these days who would enjoy
lounging on Fozi's pillow throne!
Fozi wanted to say goodbye to everyone and doesn't want us to be
sad. Instead he wants us to remember how much he made us all
giggle. He was a lucky 13 year old to first get saved from the
pound, then end up in a rescue where his foster parents became his
forever family. He was cherished and loved in the months he was
with us, and I'd hazard a guess that all of us will keep a little
tiny memory of The Foz tucked in our hearts
Freia, 2001 - 3/2/15
Freia was a loving cat. I remember being only 4 and chasing her
around the house. She used to hate me, but as I matured, she
started to tolerate me. Then starting in middle school, she would
climb up on the couch and sit by me as I did my homework. It
stayed like that. She was ALWAYS by my side. She purred no matter
what. But then she started to have difficulty walking and going to
the bathroom. It got worse until she wouldn't even walk…but that's
not how we remember her. We remember her as the friendly cat. We
remember her as the cat everybody loved. We remember her nickname
"Harley" because of her motorcycle-like purr. But most of all, we
remember her as Freia, a forever loved cat. Kari
We remember the little gray and white kitty Chelsea, adopted from
the Dane Co Humane Society in the summer of 2002, just after we
lost gray and white, Oddleif. We went with the Norwegian
theme and named her Freia. She loved to spend the night in
bed with us, she had a very loud purr, she liked to sun herself on
cold winter days on her "plurch" and hang out in the yard during
the summer. In her young days, she caught some mice and
chipmunks. As she got older, the loved to sit on her cat bed
by the heating vent. A few old cats passed and new cats came
in the past 12 years but Freia loved people the most. She
would rub her wet gray nose against our faces and purr. We
will miss her. Jeff and Inna
