Discovered wandering Eastern Washington;
rescued by PAWS. There found by us: one small, beautifully
thick-black-furred, short-legged senior dog. Why know one had
adopted him yet is a mystery...the day we met him, just out of
surgery, he came straight to us, bonking his cone on the floor as
he walked, and climbed into my daughter's lap. No way we were
going home without him.
Each day he awoke, excited that YES!
Another meal! Another walk in the wood!. Another lap! Always
appreciative, loving, and loyal beyond belief. He followed me
around the house, napping wherever I was...in the
kitchen...outside the bathroom door...on the deck. He would
stare at us, hugging yes with his eyes. Prance excitedly when we
came in the door. Not a playful dog, but always, ever happy to be
part of the family.
We lost him last November to dementia and
age. He was ready to go, but we were not ready to lose him.
Goodbye, sweet boy. See you again one day.
