My sweet Edward, I miss you so very much. You were the light
of my life, the one who saved me. 11 years weren’t long enough
with you. I’ll forever love you my sweet boy. I’ll see you soon at
The Rainbow Bridge 🌈❤️🐾
Elliw 'Ell Pell'
Haf, 8th May 2008 - 24th November 2021
Uncle John had found your twin brother (who we would name
“Trefor”) had been born, then some 30 minutes later Auntie Janet
went to check on the newly born Trefor and found that you had been
born as well. We decided to name you “Elliw”. Uncle Anthony had
for some months thought that your name was spelt “Ellyw” (with a
“y”, which is an alternative correct spelling).
You were a lively kitten, even having a tantrum when your mother,
Gwenllian, brought you into the house!
Over the years you were always doing your own thing, even tearing
a hole in Uncle Anthony’s branded (and rather expensive) woolly
hat. Uncle Anthony did still use it from time to time, until it
got lost for some years…
Your mother and brother were always playing with you, and you
enjoyed helping the older cats eat their food!
You were always outgoing and very often used to give us humans the
slip. Uncle John would worry until you returned home. To be fair,
you always did come to the window so that we would let you in.
Giving your humans the slip was a source of much fun it seems!
We lost your cousin, though we think he was also your
half-brother, Trebor (not to be confused with your twin Trefor).
You missed him very much as he was always playing with both Trefor
and you.
Then Yoda came, and though you weren’t friendly to begin with, you
became very close to him also. One summer night Yoda and you gave
us humans the slip. It turned out both of you had decided to sleep
outside on top of the garden shed, as the house was quite humid.
Uncle Anthony decided both of you had the right idea so left you
to it!
Many of the other cats crossed the rainbow bridge, some too early
like Trebor who was 3½ years old (intussusception) and Yoda who
was 5 years old (congenital heart failure). You lasted the longest
of our cats.
You lost your teeth, in fact the day you had them removed Uncle
John forgot to check the clips on the cat carrying box, and you
escaped in the vets! Thankfully you came back.
In the last few years you seemed to have an odd penchant of
drinking a number of times in a short period. As you were only
doing it twice a day, the vet thought maybe your kidneys were
starting to lose efficiency but for us not to panic as you seemed
very well hydrated and passing clear water freely. This went on
for about 3 years.
Sadly it progressively got worse and while the vet wanted to x-ray
the kidneys, they were worried that anesthetizing you may not be a
good idea if the kidneys were less-than-optimal. They suggested we
give you special food and, if you were to eat normal food, to
drench some water on it. However, you seemed to enjoy rain water
that had collected in one of the bowls we left outside, so we
collected water from a nearby water-butt to give you in your
drinking bowl (and to wet your food). That seemed to improve you,
as you were more perky and were more like you used to be I.e.
giving us the slip!
But more recently you stopped eating and had no interest at all in
even the food you liked most. You even went to hide behind the TV
stand. Uncle Anthony realised that maybe your kidneys were giving
in, and managed to persuade both Uncle John and Auntie Janet that
we should consider the “bigger picture”. The vet gave you a final
roll of the dice to see if you would eat, sadly it turned out not
to be.
It was clear that you were not enjoying your life anymore, and you
were losing weight rapidly. We knew you were hoping to cross the
rainbow bridge, so we obliged.
Uncle Anthony had ironically found the woolly hat that you had
torn many years earlier, so decided you ought to have it on your
journey.
We hope that you are now happy with the others who crossed before
you.
We still think of you as “Baby-Girl Elliw”, even though you had
been “Big-Girl Elliw” for many years.
Miss you lots “Baby-Girl”, :'(
Lots and lots and lots of love,
Your feline cohorts and your three human “pests” (John, Janet and
Anthony)
Eugene 'Jeezy'
Frankine, 8/13 - 6/18/21
Eugene...Jeezy, my bubba. I don't know what was happening and it
happened so fast. I will always long for your cuddles in bed, the
way you sat lookout as guard dog when we'd sit on the front porch,
the raceway you and Capone would make down the hallway from the
living room to the bedroom and back. My baby, you were such an
angelic being. Always on the lookout in the front window, ever
accepting to a friend coming to visit. How you'd growl and play
every time I would grab at your feet. You were the reason I could
sleep at night, cuddled up next to you. That tongue of yours
always hanging out the side of your mouth, you were famously known
for it. Jeezy I miss you so much and you've barely been gone 6
hours. I love you bubba. This house won't be the same without you,
and I know Capone is missing you already. I love you Eugene.
You'll always be Daddy's baby.
