Zeus was given to us when he was 14
months old. We welcomed Zeus with open arms and open hearts. He
quickly became my (Vicki) service dog as he knew when my blood
pressure was dropping and would alert me before I passed out. Our
bond was so strong that I couldn't imagine life without him. Zeus
loved Tony more than life itself. He eagerly waited every morning
for him to round the corner into our living room. His little nubby
tail would wag so fast, and the look of love in his eyes was
enough to make one cry from pure joy seeing this connection.
Zeus died from poisened dog food. He was
ill Thursday morning, stayed at the vets all day and he was sent
home. Friday, Sept 17, 2021 at 7:15 am. he died. I was
holding him at the time telling him how much I loved him. I saw
the light leave his eyes. I have not been the same since.
Zeus brought such joy
to our lives. Many times we talked about how we lived before him.
Having him die so needlessly, and, feeling enormous guilt, his
death has consumed me. BUT, a couple of days after he died I took
our 2 year old Min Pin, Mataeo, on the deck. I as standing on the
deck looking to heave asking why? Why did God take our Zeusie. I
asked Zeus to please forgive me for not saving his life. At that
moment a Blue Butterfly flew down from a tree, circled us twice
and then landed on the deck table. We saw that butterfly everyday
for over a month. We called it "Zeusie Blue Butterfly". We'd
give anything to have one full day with Zeus again. I still cry
every day, sometimes multiple times. I know Zeus is in heaven
waiting for us.....We love you Zeusie, and cannot wait to hold
you, play with you, and shower you with love.
Love,
Mom, Dad, and Mataeo

In Memory My Sister Carol's Beloved Furbaby Zeus-Bear
He was a gentle giant full of love. My sister was the happiest I'd
ever seen her when she brought him home. I was witness to the
kindness she showed her beloved Zeus. The wonderful tender moments
of her talking and kissing him so gently. Made me feel an even
stronger bond with her. As yes I too have pets.
I had the pleasure of spending ten full days with Zeus and of
course my Sister, he was such a clown at times. He had many
toys but one was a big rubber chicken that made the saddest sound
and he made lots of noise with it. lol. And of course, Zeus yet
again made me laugh. My sister was working so I was taking Zeus
out for a potty time but he figured it out that I was a sucker for
sad-eyed whimpering. Of course, I thought it was to go potty
but he just wanted to play. And boy did he play zooming in
and out of furniture without knocking anything down and being that
size I was truly amazed. I could go on and on about this
incredible dog named Zeus
Unfortunately, I could not be there to console my sister but we
chatted on an app for the entire day. I could see the pain
in her eyes and I wanted to just hug her but I couldn't. So
I decided to write a tribute to her beloved Zeus, and to the
kindest, she shared with him.
May He Rest In Peace Until They Meet Again
I love You, Sis
