Earl (also known as “Little Man”) came to me as a stray kitten. He
was first found by a a group of kids who knocked on my door and
asked if they could have the little black kitten under our porch. I
gave them my blessing, but they were unable to catch him. Their loss
was truly my gain. A few days later, he showed up at our back door
in search of food. He instantly made friends with my cat Emmett and
was soon a beloved member of the family. Earl was a high-energy cat
who loved to shadow me. I will miss him flying past me on the
stairs, leaping over whatever piece of furniture I was occupying and
dropping by for our regular bathroom talks. He had an extreme degree
of curiosity which constantly threatened to get him into serious
trouble. He’s the only cat I ever had who repeatedly tried to
swallow bits of plastic he chewed from trash bags and various
packaging. His passing was sudden and it will take me a long time to
adjust to not having him by my side. I’ll never forget you, Little
Man.
