Rafa named for
Spanish tennis star Rafa Nadal, February of 2007 -
August 20, 2022
Rafa came to me during finals week of fall term 2012-13. His first
mama Ela was unable to keep him so she asked her neighbor Jeri
Powell who was a cat rescuer to help find Thomas a new home. They
called me up during the busiest time of a high school teacher's
life which is finals week. I had lost my kitty Marlos (who also
has a page on this site) in December of 2012. I had decided to let
the universe bring me a cat. So although it was finals week I said
ok come over and I'll meet him. Oh he was a big handsome gray
panther cat!So gorgeous with big green eyes that showed his
intelligence and wisdom. He was a Russian Blue and they have two
coats one silver and one a gray bunder coat. And so began a most
wonderful ten yrs. Yes he was spoiled beyond measure and given
anything he could have wanted or needed. He was still very playful
in his later yrs, he loved his organic nip that his Auntie Jeri
brought him and he became a big brother at age 12 when I rescued a
tiny black kitten we named Serena *for Serena Williams keeping the
tennis theme as I am an avid watcher of professional tennis from
January to the US Open.
Rafa loved to sit in his window and check out the birds and fresh
air. He was afraid of any knocks on the door and would hide. He
had an unknown difficult start to life prior to Mama Ela's and
that trauma stated with him throughout his life. I did my best to
make up for it and took a yr for him to sit next to me on the
couch but after that he always wanted to snuggle on my chest or on
my hip.

When you crossed the Rainbow 🌈 Bridge, you took with you my
heart! Until we meet again my forever friend.
Reilly,
8/24/2004 - 4/2017
I got Reilly as a puppy. I thought he was defective as he never
barked. He was a quiet, laid back schnauzer. He was happy to just
lay in my arms and cuddle while I sang “My Man” to him. He was
very special. Later he developed diabetes but became a very good
patient, accepting two shots in his neck daily. I enjoyed his
company as long as he was on this earth and wish he could’ve
stayed longer. But I was grateful for the time we had.

You were left with a neighbor at their mailbox and they brought
you to me. I was not ready for another pup but daddy said we were
keeping you. daddy left us and I loved you for 14 years. you now
will run with Scrappy, Sassy, Shadow, Peenut, Scooby, Pippi,
Sammy, and countless other pets that are waiting for their parents
to come to get them. I will meet you all again, for now, you are
healthy and running free and watching over us, and know we love
you and always will. You will have endless treats and bounds of
fun.

Rosie, 2007 -
3-9-2022
Rosie you came to me in really rough shape.
You had been a stray for quite a while and had skin infections,
ear infections, you were terribly underweight. But we got
you to the vet and started treating your infections and feeding
you a good diet. You became healthy, your skin healed and
your coat was beautiful again. We had seven years together
which was more than I expected when I adopted you. You
were sweet and gentle and kind. You welcomed strangers to
our home with an open heart and a friendly wag of your
tail. You enjoyed spending time laying outside in the yard
enjoying the weather and protecting your territory. You
were a very good girl and I love you with all my heart.
I'll miss you but I know you're not in pain anymore. Run
free and happy and I'll see you again some day. Jordan and
Lily miss you too. Their big fursister is missed.

My big boy and my best girl. I will always love you,
Until we meet again at the bridge, run and play together,
Healthy and young again and cancer will never touch you
again.. Thank you God for every day you gave me with these
precious creatures. I believe with all my heart that you
love your creation and that what you have given to me for a short
time, you have received them back to yourself for all
eternity. I praise you Lord and am forever grateful for your
blessings and answered prayers. In Jesus precious name, Amen
